World Heart Day 2017

"Spy your heart"

The World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29 September. It is an initiative of the World Heart Federation to inform people around the globe that cardiovascular disease is the world’s leading cause of death and to highlight the actions that individuals can take to prevent and control cardiovascular disease.
The goal of the World Heart Day is to educate people that by controlling certain risk factors (e.g., smoking, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity), at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided, thus, reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease.
In this global campaign, individuals, communities, and governments participate in activities to inform people and encourage heart-healthy living to ultimately fight against the cardiovascular disease burden.
