Dr Maria Ruiz-Castell
Activities
Dr Maria Ruiz-Castell’s research interests range across the epidemiology and public health fields. Over the past several years, she has contributed to the development of international projects in epidemiology and global health with fieldwork and quantitative data analyses conducted in the Canadian Arctic, Spain and highland Bolivia. Her work has focused on how challenging environmental conditions (social and natural) may affect population’s health.
Her recent involvement with interdisciplinary research teams in the past two years have led her to locate her work on the socio-determinants of health. She is the project leader of the European Health Examination Survey in Luxembourg and European Health Interview Survey, cross-sectional studies examining the general health status of the population of Luxembourg.
