Luxembourg seeks to recruit a Chair in Neuropathology

Luxembourg is recruiting for a Chair in Neuropathology. This position is endowed with funding from the PEARL programme of the National Research Fund Luxembourg and an invited professorship at the University of Luxembourg. The candidate will be hosted at the “Laboratoire National de Santé” (LNS), and will be affiliated both with LIH and the University of Luxembourg.

With this recruitment, Luxembourg will strengthen its national strategy by providing specialised pathology services as well as complementing ongoing strategic research efforts in Personalised Medicine, the National Centre of Excellence in Parkinson’s disease (NCER-PD) and the National Cancer Plan. With the substantial funding provided, the successful candidate will be able to develop his/her own research programmes in Luxembourg and establish a novel Centre for Translational Neuropathology.

He/she will contribute to ongoing research efforts in the fields of neuro-oncology and neurodegenerative diseases (NCER-PD). The neuropathologist-researcher will be responsible for the processing of all neurological biopsies, surgical specimens and autopsies collected in Luxembourg for both diagnostic and research purposes. He /she will supervise neurological bio-specimen collection in close cooperation with the LNS and the Integrated Biobank of Luxembourg.
